Holiday Progressive Dinner Weekend

A MOVABLE FEAST is the best way to describe a gourmet dinner which begins at one of Fish Creek’s historic inns for appetizers, then moves to a second for the main course and concludes at a restaurant for dessert.  The Progressive Holiday Dinner Weekends are hosted by the Thorp House Inn, White Gull Inn and Barringer's Restaurant. Three are scheduled for December 2018: the weekends of Friday and Saturday, November 30 & December 1, December 7 & 8, and December 14 & 15.  A fourth Holiday Progressive Dinner Weekend is scheduled for the weekend of January 4 & 5, 2019. The Thorp House Inn and White Gull Inn are planning memorable weekend packages, culminating Saturday evening in a five course dinner complete with wine and live music, as you tour the inns, both bedecked festively for the holiday season.

THE DINNER begins at 5:30 pm, with hors d’oeuvres and champagne at the charming Thorp House Inn & Cottages built in 1902 by Freeman Thorp of the founding family of Fish Creek and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Innkeeper Melanie Camp and her staff will be on hand to relate the history of the Thorp House and serve appetizers as a guitarist plays seasonal music.

DINNER GUESTS will then be transported to the White Gull Inn by horse drawn wagon past the many homes and businesses decorated for the holidays. The 121-year-old White Gull is the oldest continuing operating inn in Door County, and has received national critical acclaim for both its historic accommodations and award-winning restaurant. Innkeepers Andy, Jan and Meredith Coulson and their staff will conduct tours and discuss the inn’s history before serving the soup, entrée, and salad courses. Harpist Cheryl Murphy will be on hand to entertain the dinner courses. The third leg of the evening will be at Barringer's Restaurant, where guests will gather for dessert.

THE PROGRESSIVE Dinners are open to weekend guests of either the White Gull Inn or Thorp House Inn & Cottages.

THE THORP HOUSE INN package includes two nights lodging, the Progressive Dinner on Saturday evening, a complimentary wine and cheese reception Friday afternoon, and full breakfast each morning for guests staying in the main Inn. For guests who book a cottage, their stay will include one complimentary breakfast per person at the White Gull Inn for either Saturday or Sunday morning. The package price is the regular rate of the room or cottage and an additional $118/person for the dinner plus taxes.  A two night minimum stay is required.

Progressive Dinner Cancellation Policy: A deposit refund will be made on "Progressive Dinner" weekends only if the space is re-rented. A $25 cancellation fee is subtracted from the refund.
