What a year it has been so far! I could not have imagined back in January when we purchased Thorp House Inn & Cottages that I would have been met with one of the worst Wisconsin winters in recent memory–but we made it through and learned a lot. This past winter was a true learning experience for me, and I could not have made it through without the expert help of my senior innkeeper Lauren. She has been invaluable to our success and she truly loves the inn and our guests.
We also welcomed my wife, Darlene, up from Tennessee after our daughter, Sofia, graduated from high school. She has been learning the business and helping in all aspects of the business. My son, Emilio, is also helping around our property with maintenance and small projects.
Our Door County summer was spectacular as we welcomed previous guests back to the property and met many, many new guests who will surely be back to visit again. We upgraded our wireless internet across the property, will be painting the main inn this fall, and will be adding a new inn room (Lilian)this winter.
Speaking of winter, we are rolling all-new pricing beginning in November and running through April 2020. Please check out this fantastic winter pricing here: thorphouseinn.com/specials/winter-room-rates/
Winter is such a nice time to visit. Many businesses and restaurants are open and of course, all of the parks are always open. So, whether you enjoy outdoor snow activities or the coziness of staying inside, we are a great option for a winter getaway.
Finally, don’t forget about our Progressive Dinners that we host along with the White Gull Inn in December and early January. These are always wonderful weekends full of food and fun. Check out more on booking a holiday weekend here: thorphouseinn.com/specials/holiday-progressive-dinner-weekend/
We hope everyone had a wonderful summer and early fall season and we look forward to hosting you soon at Thorp House Inn & Cottages.
All the best,
